To prevent a tinySA from being damaged you may have to apply external attenuation or a DC block. Follow the rules in the below table to be sure.

| 1 Watt source | Use at least 40 dB external attenuation |
| 10 Watt source | Use at least 50 dB external attenuation |
| 100 Watt source | Use at least 60 dB external attenuation |
| Static Electricity | Do not use the supplied telescopic antenna |
